Buddhism for Schools, Colleges and Universities

Background
Duldzin Kadampa Buddhist centre regularly hosts school and college visits for children and students of all ages. School visits are led by experienced teachers, giving students invaluable practical experience to enrich their classroom studies. The students will find out about Buddha's teachings, discover what it means to be a Western Buddhist living in a Buddhist community, explore the symbolic meaning of a Buddhist shrine, and get to try a simple meditation. Of course, they also get to ask lots of questions!
Information useful for students' projects on Buddhism, meditation and practices can be found on our web site www.meditationinliverpool.org.uk or on the NKT's learning zone, a library of information on a wide range of subjects related to Buddhism on http://kadampa.org/en/reference
Our centre is open to everyone and we are always happy to arrange a guided visit of the centre. We can also send one of our teachers to your school to explain the basics of Buddhism and the Buddhist way of life as well as answer any questions you may have.

What does a visit include?
A typical visit will include a talk and simple guided meditation in our meditation room followed by brief tour of the centre and our peace garden giving a feel for life in an active Buddhist community - a peaceful and inspiring environment. We can include a question and answer session with a Buddhist monk or nun. Visits can be adapted for younger visitors and include more interactice activities such as discussion or the drawing Buddhas. Please let us know of any requirements you may have.
