Geshe Kelsang Gyatso has appointed Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab as the deputy Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition.

Gen-la Khyenrab has been practising Kadampa Buddhism for 28 years. In that time he has studied all of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso's teachings and completed many meditation retreats. With Geshe Kelsang's blessing Gen-la Khyenrab established Tara Centre, a flourishing Buddhist college in Derbyshire that now holds the annual United Kingdom Dharma Celebration.

At Geshe Kelsang Gyatso's request Gen-la Khyenrab became the Resident Teacher at Manjushri Buddhist Centre in England which is the mother Centre for all New Kadampa Tradition Centre's throughout the world.

Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab

Geshe Kelsang gave the name New Kadampa to the Tradition to inspire his students to become like the Kadampa Buddhist practitioners of ancient times who were renowned for the sincerity and purity of their practice. In Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab this wish is fully realized. The sincerity of his practice, his compassion for living beings and his tireless reliance on his Spiritual Guide show that the Kadampa practitioners of ancient times are fully alive today.

Gen-la Khyenrab teaches at Buddhist festivals and Dharma celebrations throughout the world. For more details please click here.
