What is an Empowerment?

When we receive an empowerment, through the blessings of Buddha's body, speech and mind, a special power is bestowed upon our body, speech and mind so that eventually they are transformed into the body, speech and mind of an enlightened being.
By recieving an empowerment, we open the door to the practice of
a Buddha and make a special connection with them. They become a special, close friend for us.
Once we have received an empowerment, if we rely sincerely upon that Buddha with strong faith we will directly receive their protection, blessings and care in this life and in life after life.
